This position provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, and resources. The RN performs all responsibilities and duties specific to the scope of service. The RN implements procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure integration of information for the healthcare team. Completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates with others directly and privately when necessary to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand the knowledge base. Identifies personal learning needs and takes initiative to begin appropriate solutions. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Monitors patients 24/7 for seizure activity. Ensures good communication with patients and families by utilizing meaningful hourly rounding, bedside shift reports, and whiteboards. Works with the critical care team for advanced care patients. Collaborates with hospitalists for advanced care patients.
