In this unit, dedicated nursing staff, nurse leaders, interdisciplinary team members, and physician partners provide specialized medical and nursing care to various inpatient units. The environment is fast-paced, exciting, and always evolving. Responsibilities include performing all duties required by the unit specific to the scope of service. You will implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided is essential. You will complete initial assessments upon patient admission and develop an appropriate plan of care based on patient and family needs. Implementing plans of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures is a crucial part of the role. You will modify plans of care based on continuous evaluation. Taking responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting and correcting safety hazards is expected. Effective communication with others directly and in private is necessary to resolve issues. You will assist in the professional development of peers by offering constructive feedback. Direct nursing care and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members to provide patient care are essential. You will conduct and document assessments, nursing diagnoses, plans, implementations, and evaluations of patient care. Acting as a resource to staff from various units is expected. Coordinating care with multidisciplinary team members to facilitate high-quality patient care is crucial. You will manage the care of acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients. Collaborating to identify patient goals of care and designing care plans with patients and families are important tasks. Implementing interventions, including medication administration and evaluating effects, is required. You will prepare patients for procedures, provide pain management, perform IV venipuncture, administer blood, and monitor labs. Discharging patients and providing discharge instructions for safe transitions are part of the responsibilities. All care must be documented using EMR. Ensuring team huddles occur and attending them is necessary. You will delegate with appropriate follow-up. Answering call lights and ensuring basic care is done according to standards of care is required. Handling conflict management and maintaining professional communication with team members is essential. Providing post-operative care for complex surgical patients is part of the role. Delegating patient care tasks to assigned staff and validating completion of delegated tasks throughout the shift is expected. Completing and documenting basic nursing care activities such as assessments, interpretation of vital signs, and ensuring physician order completion is necessary. You will provide patient medications using the patient 5 Rights. Maintaining patient safety by ensuring compliance with safety measures is a priority. A positive attitude that promotes a healthy work environment and healing patient environment is essential. Promptly answering patient call lights to ensure effective triage and completion of patient requests is required. Using critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions and nursing judgment to identify and act on changes is crucial.
