The RN utilizes the principles of Relationship Based Care in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for all patients. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals. Utilizing a therapeutic professional relationship, the RN facilitates the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiological, developmental, and psychosocial needs of the patient. The RN supports the mission, vision, values, and expectations of excellence of the organization. Competency is demonstrated through consistent application of scientific knowledge from social, biological, and physical sciences.
