Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 years of critical care experience required Recent ICU experience within the last year License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS required TNCC preferred Must-Have: Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias Strong ICU experience with Level 1 Trauma Center experience Description: The role involves floating to all critical care units, including MICU, Burn ICU, Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU, and CVICU. Clinicians are expected to have experience with vents, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation. Management of dysrhythmias and EKG interpretation skills are necessary, as there will be a competency test. Candidates must possess prior academic or teaching facility experience. Strong critical care skills required include arterial line management, central line care, care of ventilated patients, and blood product administration. Other desired skills include ICP monitoring and pulmonary artery line monitoring. Travelers may be required to float to different units based on facility needs. The patient-to-nurse ratio will vary; expect ratios of 1:1-2 in critical care settings. Candidates must be open to accommodating weekend shifts, with every other weekend required. References must be provided upon submission. This position necessitates compliance with health and safety protocols. An assessment of COVID-19 vaccination status will be evaluated.
