Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: All shifts Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 3 years in ICU License: Valid unrestricted Professional Nursing License (RN) Certifications: - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association - Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association must be completed within six months of hire - Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR) must be completed within six months of hire - National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIHSS must be completed within six months of hire Must-Have: - A minimum of 3 years of prior ICU experience - Associate Degree in Nursing Description: This position is primarily within the Intensive Care Unit. The nurse will periodically float to other departments in case of low census. The nurse provides care for critically ill patients. Responsibilities include performing a variety of nursing care procedures that require professional knowledge and consideration of specific patient conditions. The nurse must be able to work independently in completing assignments. Guidelines include doctor's orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures manuals, and hospital policies. Duties involve provision of inpatient care and support to individuals of all ages and their families. The nurse will assist with post-operative recovery as needed. A culturally rich environment exists within the community served. The staff includes various medical providers and nursing staff members, providing a diverse working environment.
