Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: Active state RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be comfortable working in all ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical units. Must have experience with patient ratios of at least 1:5. Description: The RN will float to various units as needed, including ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical. Charting experience with EPIC is required. The position may involve floating 2-3 times per shift based on staffing needs, which are re-evaluated every 4 hours. Weekend work may be required every other weekend or six weekend shifts in a six-week block. The RN must be willing to work at least one holiday during the contract term. First-time travelers are accepted. Local candidates may apply, subject to radius criteria. Pending licenses will be accepted if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. The RN should have skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, central line care/management, arterial line management, and blood product administration. Experience with central line care, trach management, and non-invasive airway support, including nasal cannula, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilator management, and chest tubes, is required. Proficiency in cardiac monitoring, continuous IV sedation, and emergency medication administration is essential. The average ICU patient ratio is 2:1, PCU is 5:1, and Medical-Surgical may flex up to 7:1. Interdisciplinary support includes Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams. Candidates must prepare to implement infection prevention protocols and follow isolation precautions as necessary.
