Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardio Thoracic ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Cardio Thoracic ICU or equivalent License: Valid Registered Nurse license required Certifications: AHA BLS and ACLS required Must-Have: CVICU experience and NextStage CVVH machine knowledge required Description: Night shifts available from 19:00 to 07:30. Every other weekend and some holidays will be required. No call is expected. Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area is preferred. Basic Arrhythmia experience is necessary. Traveler must pass a Telemetry test prior to starting. The unit specializes in the care of cardiothoracic surgical patients. Patient care includes CABG, Valve Repair/Replacement, LVAD, and heart/lung transplants. The nursing team includes charge nurses and a designated resource nurse for support. Staff assignments may vary based on patient acuity and unit needs. Assignment typically consists of 1-2 patients, increasing to 3 if staffing allows. The unit supports various medical staff including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. Special procedures may take place frequently, requiring adaptability from staff. Provide care utilizing both technological expertise and a commitment to patient and family needs. Nurses are required to have experience with specific equipment relevant to cardiac care. Telemetry competency must be currently active and will be assessed. The nursing environment is dynamic and may require floating to other units as needed.
