Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - EKG exam must be passed on the first attempt. - Epic charting experience is required. Description: The ICU is a 10-bed intensive care unit. It provides care to critically ill and postoperative patients. Candidates will undergo a pre-screen clinical review. If clinical fit is determined, candidates will be sent for a final decision. The unit specializes in invasive hemodynamic monitoring. Other care includes ventilator management and recovery from open heart surgery. Additional skills required include management of arrhythmias, advanced cardiac life support, and patient monitoring. Travelers may care for COVID-19 patients. The facility is tobacco and fragrance-free. Floating to other ICU and medical-surgical floors may be necessary. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Holidays may be required as needed. The daily census in the unit averages 8.39 patients. Interdisciplinary support is available from various teams, including respiratory services and social services. Patient demographics mainly consist of adults and geriatrics. The unit cares for patients undergoing cardiac procedures. It is essential to adhere to all infection prevention protocols.
