Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidates must not currently be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any facility associated with this organization. Description: This is a fast-paced unit that experiences volume flexes due to being a primary tertiary facility. Successful candidates should possess critical thinking skills and a positive attitude. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips, including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, and sedation. Nurses need to be competent in reading and interpreting telemetry strips. Charge nurses are present on each shift and attend rapid response teams and codes. Patient care technicians assist with patient care, with a ratio of 1:18. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, along with two out of three major holidays. Floating may occur to all inpatient units, excluding Maternity/NICU. Scrub color is navy blue. Candidates must be willing to foster a team environment and collaborate with attending and student providers. This role requires a commitment to high-quality care and the ability to ask questions and assist others. Additional time off requests should be submitted upfront, and approval for more than seven days will not be granted during the contract period. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during the assignment. Charting is done using the EPIC system.
