Must-Have:
Must have 2 years of ICU experience and prior charge nurse experience.
If a first-time traveler, must have 3+ years of ICU experience and Epic experience.
Comfortable with titrating all critical drips, including pressors, sedation, and others.
Description:
Seeking an ICU Charge Nurse for a float pool in an acute care setting.
This role involves floating within a designated zone, requiring adaptability and flexibility.
Charge nurses may respond to codes and rapid responses throughout the facility.
Unit ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2 dependent on patient acuity, with the possibility of flexing to 1:3.
No designated nurse aids are available; sitters are used as needed.
Registered Nurses are expected to read and interpret their own telemetry strips.
Scheduled shifts will be determined by leadership, and flexibility is required to fill scheduling gaps.
Weekend shifts of 6-9 are expected in a 6-week schedule.
Holiday rotation may be required.
RNs may be asked to float to varying acuity levels, including ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele.
No call or standby requirement is anticipated, except in rare low census situations.
Comprehensive orientation and training will be provided.
