Job Title: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse (ICU), Step Down Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current State License Certifications: CPR, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Extensive Cardiac experience, ICU experience, willingness to float to Medical Surgical if needed Description: We are seeking an experienced RN for our Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, Stroke Neuro, Step-Down ICU, and ICU units. Candidates must have ICU experience. Candidates must be willing to float down to Medical Surgical if needed. Extensive Cardiac experience is required. The candidate must have a current state license, CPR, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. The candidate must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Education verification is required. Utilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act. Documents according to standards of care. Develops, initiates, and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by a physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction. Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance. Utilizes clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care. Utilizes critical thinking in regards to patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command. Holiday coverage is required.
