Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent ICU experience License: New York License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure - Arterial line management - Central line care/management - Continuous IV sedation - Titrating cardiac drips - Titrating vasoactive drips - BiPAP/CPAP management - Care of ventilated patients - Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs) - Suctioning (ETT, NT) - Isolation precautions/PPE Description: ICU Registered Nurse needed with a minimum of 2 years of recent ICU experience. Must hold a valid New York License. All necessary certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. The nurse will work a full 12-hour shift on their first day. The nurse should come prepared to work and orient to the floor. The nurse will need to achieve a minimum score on a telemetry assessment on the first day of orientation. This assessment covers cardiac rhythm interpretation essential for patient care. If not passed, the nurse will receive educational resources for remediation. The assessment will evaluate the understanding of heart blocks, various arrhythmias, and clinical interventions in response to these arrhythmias. Nurses are responsible for independently measuring telemetry strips and accurately interpreting cardiac rhythms for all telemetry patients under their care. First-time travelers may be considered depending on experience. Previous travelers are eligible to return if in good standing.
