Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience plus at least 1 year CV ICU experience preferred. License: Active RN license required. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIH required. Must-Have: - Strong independent experienced nurses. - Ability to float to multiple ICUs. - Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and management of critical patients. Description: We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse for a Critical Care Float position. This role involves floating to various intensive care units, including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Client, Medicine, and COVID units. The nurse will be required to float to inpatient floors as a staff nurse if ICU needs are not applicable. Patient ratios for ICU are 2:1 for all shifts. On inpatient floors, nurses will have a ratio of no more than 1:3. The nurse may also float to non-critical care units if census is low in the ICU. There may be occasions to act as a patient sitter as needed. Weekend and holiday rotations are required, typically every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule. The role requires experience in various critical care procedures and equipment. Specific cardiovascular ICU experience is not mandatory, but direct familiarity with critical care practices is beneficial. Candidates should have skills in ventilator management, administration of vasoactive drips, and monitoring of central lines and other critical patient parameters. Relevant certifications in critical care and experience with EPIC charting are preferred. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with a variety of critical care diagnoses. Interdisciplinary support is available, including IV teams, physical therapy, and social services. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of critically ill patients across multiple settings.
