Job Title: Level 2 Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Neuromusculoskeletal Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Rotating Shift Schedule - Days/Eves/Nights Hours per Shift: 12.0 Experience: - Two (2) Years Experience Required - Stepdown/PCU Experience Required - High acuity stroke and neurosurgery experience required - Telemetry Experience Required License: - RN License (New York License ONLY) Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Required - ACLS (American Heart Association ONLY) Preferred - NIHSS Preferred Must-Have: - Must have stepdown experience/PCU experience - Experience in Q1 neuro checks, EVDs, lumbar drains, sub-dural drains, 3% NS and Cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coil/clips, DBS Insertion (Deep Brain Stimulator), VP shunts, and seizures Description: Through clinical practice, the Level 2 Registered Nurse is accountable for the provision of competent care based on established standards. The Level 2 Registered Nurse assumes an expanded role, which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities. The role involves adherence to service excellence and professional development. The nurse will ensure that clinical practices are based on research and evidence-based practice.
