Must-Have:
Candidates must not be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities.
Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license.
Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Candidates must pass an open-book exam with a score of 90% or above during orientation.
Self-scheduling is allowed for core staff, but block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.
Description:
The ICU unit cares for a diverse patient population, including trauma and cardiac cases.
The average daily census is 16, with a total of 33 beds in the unit.
Nurse-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:2 to 1:3.
Common patient conditions include overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, and respiratory distress.
Registered Nurses are required to titrate various intravenous drips.
Nurse aides are available based on census needs to assist with patient care.
RNs are also responsible for reading, interpreting, and documenting telemetry strips.
Shifts are from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
Floating to PCU and MedSurg may occur, maintaining similar patient ratios.
Holiday requirements include a minimum of 2 holidays within the contract timeframe.
Weekend requirements involve working every other weekend.
Routine time off requests should not exceed 7 days within the 13-week contract.
The charting system used is EPIC.
A BSN is required for submission.
This position is in an acute care setting with a trauma level of 2.
