Job Title: RN - ICU/PCU Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU/PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (18:45 - 07:15) Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU/PCU settings required License: Active state RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Comfortable working all ICU and PCU units - Ability to float to different units as needed Description: The position requires an RN specializing in ICU/PCU. Candidates must be comfortable with floating across various units. Schedules consist of 3 shifts of 12 hours during nights. Charting must be completed using the EPIC system. Staffing needs are assessed every 4 hours, leading to potential floating 2-3 times per shift. Weekend work is required either every other weekend or 6 shifts within a 6-week period. One holiday must be worked during the 13-week contract. First-time travelers are welcomed. Local candidates are accepted within a specified radius. Pending licenses are accepted if the candidate has a single-state license from a non-compact state. Specific requests for time off and scheduling should be noted upon submission. The facility reserves the right to cancel one shift every two weeks. Required clinical skills include: - IV therapy including arterial line management and central/PICC line care - Blood product administration and IV initiation & maintenance - Respiratory support management including BiPAP and CPAP - Medication administration including continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips - Wound care and management of surgical wounds with drains or vacs - Cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Adherence to IV insulin protocols Candidates with previous charge experience are preferred. Experience in a large facility is also required. The average patient ratio in the PCU is 5:1, while in the ICU it is 2:1. This role involves direct patient care for adults and geriatrics. Support services available include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. This position requires a high level of clinical competence and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
