- Experience Required: 2 Years
- Weekly Pay:$2150 to $2350
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit
- Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and hemodynamic stability
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, vasoactive drips, and other advanced treatments as prescribed
- Operate and monitor ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and other critical care equipment
- Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations
- Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, recovery expectations, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Follow infection prevention protocols, patient safety standards, and ICU best practices
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting patients and families during critical situations
Requirements
- Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred
- Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing advanced cardiac and critical care monitoring
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, emergency response, and communication skills
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment
