Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Adult ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required. Must have experience in a 600+ bed teaching facility. License: Valid RN License required. Certifications: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must have level 1 trauma experience. Must be able to pass dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance. Must have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Must be clean-shaven for fit test. Must be competent in Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Description: This position requires travel team members to have their own vehicles. All nurses will be expected to demonstrate competency in maintaining a sterile field. Travelers who indicate they are not competent in certain areas may not be a good fit. Floating among all ICU areas and any MedSurg/Tele units is expected. Shifts are self-scheduled with the scheduling team responsible for final adjustments. Navy scrubs are the expected attire. Common diagnoses in the ICU include sepsis, GI bleeds, DKA, prone therapy, heat stroke, and overdose. Bedside procedures include bronchoscopy, tracheostomy, and hemodialysis catheter placements. Nurses are required to read and interpret telemetry strips. Intensivists are present 24/7, with respiratory therapy support available in the ICU. Cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled within a 13-week assignment. Charting is done using a digital system. Weekend shifts are mandated as part of the schedule. Holidays are based on unit coverage. Continuous education and skill enhancements in lifts, restraints, and wound care will be provided. The unit has a total of 120 beds across various ICU specializations. Nurses will manage a range of critical patients requiring extensive monitoring and care.
