Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in critical care License: Valid nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: iCare experience and EPIC charting experience Description: Critical care float pool for critical care units. Night shift available on weekends. Ideal candidates should possess flexibility in scheduling. Every other weekend shift is required, including Saturday and Sunday. In the event of a holiday during the assignment period, scheduling may occur. The facility features three 18-bed ICUs and one 6-bed Oncology ICU. The Surgical ICU primarily cares for patients with traumatic injuries and surgical complications. The Medical ICU is for critically ill patients with exacerbated medical comorbidities. The Cardiac Care Unit provides care for patients who have undergone cardiac procedures requiring additional monitoring. The Oncology ICU focuses on critically ill oncology patients and those requiring chemotherapy inductions. All ICU units accept cases such as DKA, alcohol withdrawal, and other patients needing a high level of care. Candidates may be floated within the unit complex as needed. Staff ratios are 1:2 in the MICU and SICU, and 1:3 in the CCU and OICU. Knowledge and experience with handling various critical conditions are essential. Floating may be requested based on the facility's needs. Candidates must have specialty experience within the last year. This position requires collaboration with various interdisciplinary teams. Daily patient demographics include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The focus is on care for patients with conditions such as sepsis, trauma, DKA, and post-surgical recovery.
