Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS required; CCRN preferred Must-Have: Medical and Surgical ICU experience Description: General information about the unit includes a mixed patient population in an open ICU setting. The unit has a total of 8 beds with a patient ratio of 2:1. Goal staffing includes 4 registered nurses around the clock. The unit is equipped with GE B650 cardiac monitors, ventilators, and Gaymar cooling systems. Documentation is conducted using Meditech. Self-scheduling is encouraged, and there is a requirement for every other weekend. Overtime may be available when necessary, and flexibility with scheduling is offered. ICU nurses may float to critical care or intermediate care areas as needed. Patient experience focuses on nurse communication, ensuring nurses listen and explain information clearly. Techniques such as the use of whiteboards, hourly rounding, and bedside care conferences are part of the care process.
