Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; scheduled on a 6-week rotation with every-other-weekend coverage and holiday rotation (NOC)

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care for a variety of ICU patients, including ventilated and high-acuity patients
  • Manage ventilators and perform ventilator assessment and interventions when needed
  • Titrate drips safely and effectively (vasopressors, inotropes, sedatives, heparin, insulin, octreotide)
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team and eICU resources to optimize patient outcomes
  • Serve as an engaged unit team member—communicate clearly, support colleagues, and help maintain 1:2 (occasionally 1:3) patient ratios
  • Complete unit-specific orientation including classroom plus two 12-hour shifts and demonstrate skills on a pass/fail orientation exam
