Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required Must-Have: - Care of ventilated patients - Interpretation of dysrhythmias - Management of dysrhythmias - Starting and maintaining IVs Description: The Intensive Care Unit provides critical care for adult and geriatric patients. The average daily census is 6, with a staffing ratio of 1:2-3 during nights. The unit consists of 8 rooms and operates with 10 beds. Nights require staffing ratios similar to those during the day. Patient care focuses on monitoring and managing complex health issues. The role involves working closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient outcomes. Skills in telemetry and the ability to handle emergency situations are essential. This position involves floating to medical-surgical units if necessary. Additional duties include maintaining accurate patient records and providing compassionate care. The environment is fast-paced and requires strong critical thinking and assessment skills. Candidates must be prepared for a challenging yet rewarding experience in a busy ICU setting. Flu vaccination is required, with exemptions available for medical or religious reasons.
