Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Critical Care experience preferred; will consider strong candidates with less than 3 years. License: VA or Compact License required at the time of application; no exceptions. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Strong neuro experience (post-neurosurgical, EVD, and stroke); proficiency in EPIC. Description: Chesapeake is a great location for outdoor enthusiasts, with trails and waterways for exploration. Candidates must possess strong neuro experience, specifically in post-neurosurgical care, external ventricular drain management, and stroke care. Experience with vents, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia management is essential. Registered Nurses must be willing to float to the Stepdown Unit and may also assist in the Emergency Department and Medical-Surgical units for ICU patients. Patient populations include neurosurgical patients, respiratory failure, renal failure, post-surgical cases, trauma, sepsis, MODS, heart failure, and post-cardiac catheterization. Staffing ratios will be 1:2 or 1:3 based on patient acuity. Travel experience is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must not have any prior license or background hits, as this will eliminate them from consideration. Fit testing requirements cannot accommodate individuals with PAPR challenges. EKG testing will be required prior to starting, and candidates must achieve an 80% or higher to proceed. Modules required prior to the start of the contract will be billable.
