• ACLS required (BLS required; CCRN preferred)
• Ability to work in high-stress, fast-paced travel assignments
• Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills

Job Summary:
The SICU Travel Registered Nurse provides high-acuity, critical care to post-surgical and trauma patients in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. The RN is responsible for continuous monitoring, complex clinical interventions, and coordination of care in a fast-paced critical care environment while supporting optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to critically ill post-operative and surgical ICU patients, including continuous hemodynamic monitoring and rapid response to clinical changes
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret vital signs, labs, and diagnostic results to guide immediate clinical decision-making
• Administer and titrate high-alert medications such as vasopressors, sedatives, and pain management drugs per ICU protocols
• Manage ventilated patients, including airway support, suctioning, and collaboration with respiratory therapy
• Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment such as arterial lines, central venous lines, cardiac monitors, and infusion pumps
• Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Respond to emergencies including code blues and rapid deteriorations with critical thinking and timely interventions
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control, safety protocols, and ICU best practices
• Educate patients’ families on critical conditions, procedures, and post-operative expectations
