Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Candidate must successfully pass the EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam. Candidate must have completed at least 1 travel assignment. Candidate must have ICU experience. Description: This position is for an ICU Registered Nurse. The nurse will work in both IMC and ICU units. Floating to Med Surge and Emergency Department as needed is part of the role. Every other weekend is required, totaling 6 weekend shifts in a six-week period. Patient ratios at night are 4 patients per nurse. Candidates must have experience with Cerner. Must have skills in accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, and blood product administration. Experience in care of ventilated patients and central line care/management is necessary. Ability to manage cardiac drips without titration is essential. The position also requires interpretation of arterial blood gases and management of dysrhythmias. Emergency response skills are critical, as well as the ability to provide wound care and management. Candidates should be knowledgeable in telemetry and telemonitoring techniques. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team supporting patient care, including physical therapy and pharmacy. Patients typically present with cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and gastrointestinal diagnoses.
