Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 8 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years Required License: Compact or state license required upon submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 2 Years of Experience - Previous Charge Experience - Patient Ratio Experience Description: Please ensure your traveler is aware of the following: Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, your unit manager may assign you to an "Emergency Team." There will be an expectation to stay at the facility until after the event passes or be part of the relief team. Specific details pertaining to pay will be relayed on each emergency event, as impacts vary. By signing your travel contract, you accept the above and agree to report as assigned by your immediate unit manager if an emergency event occurs. Travelers should not apply for this role if they are not comfortable with the above conditions. Unit will not accept first-time travelers. Certifications preferred include TNCC (Trauma Nurse Certification). Charting system experience preferred is Epic. Community Hospital experience is preferred. Trauma Level I experience is preferred. Trauma Level II experience is preferred. Travel experience is required. Skills required include management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure. Skills with cardiovascular, neuro, trauma experiences, and specialty procedures are highly valued. Patient diagnoses will include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census is approximately 44 patients with a nursing ratio of 1:2. Shift coverage will be every other weekend. References are not required for submission; however, two manager or supervisor references will be required to obtain clearance to start the contract. NURSYS reports must be submitted with the profile and be up to date. Candidates must have a separation period of one year before reapplying if they worked in any capacity previously. Modules are billable, completed during orientation, and factored into the orientation hours.
