Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Duration: 12 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: State nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with a patient population consisting of adults to geriatrics Preferred: Previous charge experience Description: Minimum experience required is 1 year. First-time travelers are accepted. Patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. General skills required include familiarity with medical-surgical ICU diagnoses such as sepsis, respiratory failure, and acute kidney disease. Candidates should have experience with procedures like central line and arterial line maintenance, CRRT, and targeted temperature management. The nurse-patient ratio is typically 1:2-3. Daily census averages 12 patients in a unit with 15 beds. Experience with electronic charting systems is required. Specific skills needed include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, and blood product administration. There may be floating within the facility or scope of practice as needed. Holidays are included in the assignment period, and travelers are expected to work a designated number of holidays. Compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary for timely start.
