Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years experience required; first-time travelers not accepted License: Georgia or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with a patient ratio of 1:2 - Proficiency with Epic charting system - Experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit or Surgical Intensive Care Unit - Travel experience required Description: Minimum experience required is 2 years. First-time travelers are not accepted. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics. Patient diagnoses include hypertensive emergencies, cardiogenic shock, heart failure, complex arrhythmias, unstable angina, GI bleeds, drug overdoses, and respiratory failure. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:2. The average daily census is 4 patients across 5 rooms. The unit employs various interdisciplinary support teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The workload will include hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and extensive nursing care for critically ill patients. Compliance with training and policies is required to ensure timely onboarding. Travelers are expected to work on major holidays as designated. Holiday requests will not be considered if 1-2 holidays fall within the assignment period. Emergency situations may require additional flexibility, including floating within the facility.
