Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 16 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU required License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required Must-Have: Critical care experience with gtts including insulin, vasopressors, and sedation; management of invasive lines (ART/CVP); cardiac rhythm interpretation; chest tubes; ventilator management; blood products; wound care and dressing changes Description: The Intensive Care Unit is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the team. Candidates will care for patients with various diagnoses excluding cardiac surgical cases. Common patient conditions include sepsis, ARDS, GI bleeds, DKA, cardiac arrest, withdrawal, and renal failure. The patient ratios for RNs are 1:1-2 during both day and night shifts. Support within the department includes Certified Nursing Assistants, clinical supervisors, phlebotomy, an IV/VAT team, and a dedicated pharmacist. Collaborative resources are available including a nurse educator and hospitalists. Floating to other facilities in the region may be required based on staffing needs. Travelers will be compensated for travel time between facilities when floating mid-shift. The department is committed to a culture of teamwork and family orientation. Candidates should be proficient in using EMR systems, IV pumps, and monitoring equipment.
