Job Title: Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years of ICU experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Vented patients experience Trachs, chest tubes, critical drip maintenance Central line maintenance, arterial lines Wound care, wound vacs, drains Cardiac rhythm interpretation PIV starts, NG tube insertion and maintenance Description: Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit. The position involves caring for critically ill patients in a 14-bed unit. Patients primarily include adults diagnosed with conditions such as sepsis, DKA, strokes, and respiratory failures. The staff-to-patient ratio is 1:2-3, depending on staffing levels. The RN will collaborate with a team that includes a CNA and charge nurse. Phlebotomy services are available 24/7. A PICC team is on-site during the day, with anesthesia available at night for central line placements. Bedside and central monitors are available at the nurses' station. Floating to other areas to care for ICU or PCU patients may be required, though floating to MedSurg is less common. The unit offers cameras in rooms for remote triage support. The charge nurse will participate in rapid response and code teams. The position requires experience with EPIC EMR. Weekend rotation includes six weekend shifts in a six-week schedule. Holiday expectations involve working 50% of holidays per contract. Schedule requests can be submitted, but the supervisor will balance scheduling based on unit needs. Scrub color is navy blue. The unit culture promotes teamwork and support among staff.
