Job Title: RN - ICU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 8 weeks Shift: 12-hour Night Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in the requested specialty License: Required nursing license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI preferred, TNCC preferred Must-Have: Previous experience in critical care nursing. Strong skills in arrhythmia monitoring, sedation, and patient advocacy. Ability to manage titratable drips and CVP monitoring. Description: The RN will work in the intensive care unit, managing patients with complex medical needs. This role requires caring for patients experiencing drug overdose, psychosis, myocardial infarction, subarachnoid hemorrhage, and sepsis. The nurse will also be responsible for monitoring patients on life support, CRRT, and intra-aortic balloon pumps. Candidates must exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills. The role involves floating to various medical-surgical and critical care areas as needed. Educators, nurse techs, and specialists will provide support within the department. Nurses are expected to maintain high standards of patient care and respond promptly to patient needs. Participation in department initiatives and ongoing education is encouraged. Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends and holidays, may be required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Navy scrubs will be the expected attire for this position.
