They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. This practice is supported through a shared governance model. The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the organization's values. All RN Clinical Nurses in Critical Care are licensed and knowledgeable. They uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the applicable professional standards. The clinical nurse implements the scope of practice and code of ethics standards. As a member of the patient services team, the individual upholds the voice of the patient. They support system policies and procedures while aiming for service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Performs the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Uses evidence-based practice and analytical thinking to ensure individualized care. Coordinates care through effective partnerships. Delivers relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. Engages with patients and significant others using appropriate methods for communication and care planning. Practices using current clinical practice standards. Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration in promoting safe, quality patient care.
