Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years ICU experience License: Active RN license required; temporary license will not be accepted Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred; CCRN preferred Must-Have: - 2 years ICU experience - BLS and ACLS certifications Description: Unit highlights include a 16-bed ICU with an estimated patient ratio of 1:2. Assignments are based on acuity and skills. Required equipment includes ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitor. Documentation will be performed using Meditech. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with schedules created a month in advance. Floating to other units may be required based on needs. Patient population includes surgical patients, particularly in oncology. Key procedures performed on the unit involve central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis, catheter placements, cardioversions, intubations, and other ICU procedures. Dress code for RNs includes royal blue scrubs. Nail policy specifies clean, healthy nails without artificial enhancements. Hair must be neat and clean, with no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches, and sideburns should be clean and neatly trimmed. Hair must be pulled back if it is shoulder length or longer while working.
