Job Title: Travel RN - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital ICU experience License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Must-Have: - Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. - Minimum 1 year of current acute care hospital ICU experience. - BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications. Description: This position is for a travel RN in the ICU. The unit has 21 beds and a team of 45 staff members. Night shift staff includes a charge nurse with no patient assignment and 6-8 nurses. Patient ratios are 2:1 for standard ICU patients, 3:1 for step-down status patients, and 1:1 for very high acuity patients. The unit uses Hospira IV pumps and the EMR system is Meditech. Preferred candidates should have cardiac experience and CRRT skills. Typical procedures performed include intubation, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, endoscopy, vasopressor IV drip titration, and ventilator management. Care of patients with sepsis, arrhythmias, and Med/Surg critical care is common. Team-oriented individuals with a good sense of humor are the best fit. The unit requires staff to work every third weekend and one major winter holiday. Self-scheduling is available, and staff may float to telemetry and other facilities. The facility is a small community hospital with a focus on elective procedures and is Magnet designated with intensivists available in the ICU 24/7.
