Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Critical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours (11:00 - 21:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years required, heavy on interventional cardiac patients, procedures, IV skills, sheath pull experience, stable drips, dysrhythmia interpretation and management. License: Active compact license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: Ability to float to like units, flexibility in assignments, no weekends, no holidays, and no on-call duties. Description: Perm candidates of any facility are eligible for a travel contract if they have been separated for at least 3 months. Active compact licenses are honored. Local candidates are also eligible. Experience in handling interventional cardiac patients and procedures is essential. Interventional cardiac procedures include pre/post invasive/diagnostic procedures and cardioversion. Experience with elective PCI, EP patients, ablation, lead placement, pacer placement, and pre-TAVR & Mitral Clip is required. Post-op recovery for all structural heart patients going home the same day is necessary. Required skills include TEE, cardioversion, procedure sedation, blood/blood products administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, epicardial pacer management, sheath removal, tele interpretation, heparin, and insulin management. Staffing on the unit will involve interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services and rapid response teams. This unit has a total of 16 beds. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics. Daily census depends on unit needs. Patient diagnoses focus on interventional cardiac procedures and post-operative recovery. Strong IV skills, understand dysrhythmia management, and comfort with stable drips and sheath removals are mandatory. References required covering experience within the last three years. Training modules are a part of the onboarding process and must be completed prior to the start.
