The Infection Preventionist (IP) is responsible for the surveillance, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), monitoring reportable conditions, educating employees on infection prevention practices, and developing policies and procedures that support a comprehensive infection prevention and control program. The IP ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, including those established by CMS, CDC, OSHA, FDA, and The Joint Commission.
This position collaborates with clinical and administrative teams to implement evidence-based infection prevention strategies, conduct surveillance activities, analyze data, and provide education throughout the organization. The Infection Preventionist reports directly to the Infection Prevention & Control Manager and works closely with the Performance Improvement team.
