Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week night shift assignment. The ideal candidate will have extensive critical care experience, prior travel nursing experience, and the ability to care for a wide range of complex medical and surgical patients. This role requires frequent floating to the Medical-Surgical unit, making flexibility and strong clinical skills essential.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the ICU.
Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in condition.
Manage critically ill patients requiring advanced cardiac and respiratory support.
Administer and monitor high-risk medications and continuous IV drips.
Operate and monitor advanced respiratory support equipment, including BiPAP, CPAP, and High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC/HHF).
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR.
Respond rapidly to emergencies and changes in patient condition.
Float to the Medical-Surgical unit as needed to support patient care.
Patient Population & Clinical Experience
Candidates should have experience caring for patients with:
Respiratory failure
Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
Drug overdose (OD)
Detoxification patients
Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
Complex post-operative surgical cases
Patients requiring:
BiPAP/CPAP
High-Flow Oxygen Therapy
Heparin infusions
Insulin infusions
Amiodarone infusions
Requirements
Current Montana RN License or active Compact RN License.
Minimum 3 years of ICU nursing experience.
Previous travel nursing experience required.
Current certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
