Genie Healthcare is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Boone, North Carolina.

Job Description & Requirements

We're seeking an experienced Travel ICU RN for an immediate opening! This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who are comfortable working in a fast-paced ICU environment and floating as needed.

Schedule

  • 3 x 12-hour night shifts
  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required

Unit Information

  • Home Unit: Standard ICU
  • Float Required: IMCU and Med-Surg based on census
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
    • ICU: Typically 1:2 (may vary when floating)
  • EMR: Epic (recent experience required)
  • Scrubs: All White or All Navy

Requirements

  • Active North Carolina RN License or Multistate Compact License (required at submission)
  • Minimum 1.5–2 years of recent ICU experience
  • Epic experience required
  • Must be comfortable floating within the hospital
  • Must be comfortable caring for pediatric patients when needed (not common, but possible)

Required Certifications

  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NIHSS
  • PALS (AHA)

All certifications must remain active throughout the contract.

  • Surgical ICU experience preferred

Facility Expectations

  • Float to IMCU and Med-Surg as needed
  • Candidates must be willing to work with adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Pediatric patients are infrequent but may be assigned
