Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nursing position in Idaho Falls, Idaho, involves providing critical care in a 29-bed general ICU within a level 2 trauma center. The role requires managing ventilators, interpreting arterial blood gases, titrating vasoactive drips, and performing various procedures such as intubations, central line placements, and bedside tracheostomies. The nurse will work scheduled night shifts and be part of a dynamic team caring for patients recovering from trauma, cardiac events, and other critical conditions.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, with every other weekend required
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, ACLS, BLS certifications, with advanced skills in vent management, ABG interpretation, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring. No minimum experience required, but preference for experienced ICU nurses
  • Preferred Qualifications: TNCC, NIHSS, ABLS certifications are welcome
  • Certifications Required: RN license, ACLS, BLS
  • Additional Information: Unit specifics include no CNAs, one telemetry technician, and use of advanced medical equipment such as Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV 1000 and CCO, Primaflex CRRT, and cardiohelp ECMO. On-call is required only during census drops. The unit emphasizes professional growth with an average ICU staff experience of 12 years and offers exposure to specialized procedures like intubations and bedside trach or peg tube placements.
