Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) located in Corpus Christi, Texas. This role involves providing advanced nursing care for high-acuity patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery and with multiple comorbidities. Candidates will work night shifts to support the clinical needs of the facility.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred; current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (AHA only); RN license in Texas or a compact state; at least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred; 0 years minimum experience required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-cardiothoracic surgery recovery, Impella device, Balloon Pump, Artic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT, and handling high-acuity patients with multiple drips and comorbidities; previous Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system experience preferred.
- Responsibilities: Independently practicing nursing in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while managing patient assessments, diagnoses, planning, interventions, and evaluations; administering medications and treatments using appropriate protocols; documenting patient information accurately; providing education to patients and their families; making appropriate clinical assignments and delegations; promoting patient safety and comfort.
- Position Requirements: Newly hired RNs must attend the New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire, complete designated onboarding and competency validation, including critical care-specific requirements, and fulfill annual competency verification.
- Additional Information: The position is two openings with one offer already made. Candidates should have a strong knowledge base and experience in managing high-acuity and post-surgical patients, including familiarity with advanced medical devices and treatments.
