Job Title: Hospice Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hospice RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Dayshift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience in hospice, palliative care, critical care, or med-surg License: Current RN license (Compact or state license) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Must-Have: Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment Description: This position primarily involves providing nursing care to terminally ill patients. Focus is on comfort and symptom management. Responsibilities include administering medications and interventions per physician orders. Continuous assessment of patient needs is essential to ensure a dignified and comfortable end-of-life experience. Provide guidance and oversight to non-unionized Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to ensure quality personal care. Delegate appropriate nursing support tasks including activities of daily living, hygiene, and mobility while ensuring safety and compassion. Monitor CNA documentation for accuracy and completeness. Offer real-time feedback and mentorship in a respectful, team-oriented environment. Participate in interdisciplinary team rounds.
