Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Adult Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Hours per Shift: 37.5 Experience: Minimum of two years in Med/Surg experience within a hospital or post-acute facility setting. License: RN License for the state of New York Certifications: AHA BLS; AHA ACLS (Queens only) Must-Have: Experience in home care, including traveling to patient homes and providing care. Every other weekend coverage is required. Description: Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans in consultation with healthcare professionals. Evaluating medical information and providing direct and individualized bedside nursing care to pre-and post-surgery patients. Preparing, administering, and recording prescribed medications. Changing dressings, inserting catheters, and starting IVs. Adjusting specialized medical equipment as needed, as well as interpreting and recording measurements. Monitoring patients' vitals and reporting adverse reactions to medications in a timely manner. Collaborating on discharge planning with the healthcare team. Answering questions and educating patients and their families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care. Maintaining and updating patient files, medical charts, and health records. Adhering to best nursing practices, standards, and protocols. Required Skills & Experience: Acute Facilities experience in a large hospital setting. Physical assessment and medication administration. Wound care and infection control. IV therapy and post-operative care. Patient education and telemetry monitoring. Preferred Skills & Experience: EPIC EMR experience. Knowledge of OASIS.
