Job Summary:
Gastroenterology Laboratory Technologist position located in Leesburg, Virginia. This role involves performing laboratory procedures pertinent to gastroenterology, with a focus on supporting outpatient and inpatient services. The successful candidate will work rotating shifts with scheduled weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities, demonstrating proficiency in laboratory techniques and equipment operation.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, approximately 40 hours per week, with varying days. The position includes every other weekend coverage, on-call shifts 1-2 times weekly, and holiday coverage as required.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (must be American Heart Association compliant), advanced clinical laboratory skills, at least 2 years of professional experience in a laboratory setting, valid Virginia state licensure or credentials, and proficiency with electronic medical record systems EPIC and EndoWorks.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a gastroenterology laboratory and familiarity with laboratory automation equipment.
• Additional Information: The role emphasizes strong IV skills, experience with EMR systems, and adherence to clinical protocols. The orientation period lasts one week, with dress code consisting of navy blue or solid navy-blue tops paired with navy or white scrubs.
