Job Title: SNF RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: LTC/SNF Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: CPR Certification required prior to first day Must-Have: Experience with IVs, PICC lines, mediports, and central lines Description: Unit Type: Skilled Nursing Facility / Long Term Care. Facility is a mix of long-term and skilled residents. Total number of beds/residents is 60 with private rooms. Electronic Medical Record system utilized is Point Click Care. Staffing ratios are 1 RN to 15 residents and 1 CNA to 10 residents. Common diagnoses include inability to care for self, sepsis, femur fracture, NSTEMI, chronic kidney failure, congestive heart failure, and urinary tract infections. RN responsibilities include managing IVs, PICC lines, mediports, and other critical care needs. LPN responsibilities include passing medications, wound care, catheter care, PEG tube feedings, ostomy care, and tracheostomy care. There are no telemetry monitors on this unit, and RNs are not required to read strips. Physicians are available for consultation 24/7. An interdisciplinary team consisting of physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, social services, case managers, dieticians, and a pharmacist is on-site. There is no respiratory therapy on-site 24/7. Pharmacy services are provided, and medications are sourced from a local hospital. Self-scheduling is not allowed, and block scheduling is not guaranteed. As part of the scheduling requirements, 12-hour shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, including every other weekend, are required based on facility needs. There is no floating requirement, with travelers floating before core staff. Scrub colors for RNs and LPNs are navy blue, while CNAs wear gray scrub pants and any printed top. There is no separate COVID unit; however, enhanced droplet precautions are in place for COVID-19. An N95 mask is utilized for protection. COVID vaccination is not required. Note: This position involves working directly with patients who require skilled nursing care in a supportive environment.
