Job Summary:
The Telemetry Medical Surgical Float registered nurse position is located in a healthcare facility within Kansas. This role involves providing patient care across multiple units, including general medical-surgical, cardiac, neurology, oncology, trauma, and other specialties. The nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality care in a fast-paced environment while floating within Zone 4, covering facilities around Garden City, KS. The position requires the flexibility to work night shifts with weekend coverage.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week, with 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule.
- Required Qualifications: BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIHSS certifications; 0 years of experience minimum; licensed to submit in the state of Kansas.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior neuro experience, Alaris pump experience, EPIC electronic health record experience.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within Zone 4, which includes facilities around Garden City, KS, Ulysses, KS, and Dodge City, KS. Clinicians are expected to float across multiple units and acuity levels, including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele.
- Responsibilities: Administer titratable drips such as Heparin, monitor and read strips, manage patient care across adult populations with diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, surgical, and medical conditions.
- Additional Information: All time off requests need to be submitted prior to starting the assignment. The first float assignment will be communicated on or before the start date. The charting system used is EPIC. The position begins on 08/03/2026.
