Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Float Position in Johnson City, New York. This role involves managing a diverse patient population in a general medical surgical setting. The registered nurse (RN) will provide compassionate, patient-centered care while adhering to all state and organizational standards for practice and safety.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: 8-hour shifts with a minimum of 40 hours per week. Position is Monday through Friday, with a rotating schedule that may include on-call duties one day per week and every third weekend (Friday at 4:30 PM to Monday at 7:30 AM).
  • Required Qualifications: Nursing (RN) experience of at least 6 months to 3 years; management experience of 0 to 3 years; five or more years of direct clinical experience; current NYS RN license; BLS certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross); graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Previous clinical nursing experience in an acute care or ambulatory setting; bachelor of science degree in nursing; professional certification in a related nursing specialty; relevant skills certification such as ACLS, PALS, or TNCC as required by the home unit.
  • Additional Information: The RN will be responsible for assessing, planning, and coordinating nursing care; educating patients and families; administering medications safely; participating in quality improvement initiatives; supporting the Nursing Shared Governance Model; and engaging in professional development activities. The position requires proficiency in EPIC electronic medical record system and adherence to all safety and regulatory standards.
