Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Endoscopy Specialty: RN Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8.5 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Current nursing licensure in the state Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Strong background in ERCP, EMR, and EUS Description: The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated timeframe. The nurse provides care to these patients through the therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment, instrumentation, and other health care team members. The nurse is expected to perform duties according to established standards of care and core values. Reports to the assigned unit director. Duties and Responsibilities: Performs assessment and data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on the physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients. Analyzes assessment data, identifies appropriate expected outcomes, formulates a goal-directed plan of care, and identifies patient learning needs. Implements care in a knowledgeable, skillful, consistent, and continuous manner. Performs documentation duties in a timely, accurate, and concise manner. Evaluates the effectiveness of self-care and contributions of systems, environment, and instrumentation in progressing patients toward outcomes. Recognizes emergency patient situations and follows established protocols, remaining calm and informing appropriate persons. Demonstrates a sound knowledge base in the care and decision-making for designated patient populations while following specific policies and procedures. Shows awareness of personal responsibility and accountability for professional practices. Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and aims to manage situations to reduce risk. Actively participates in staff development activities for the nursing personnel and other departments as appropriate. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity toward patient rights.
