Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after endoscopic procedures
  • Perform patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and prepare patients for procedures
  • Administer IV medications, moderate sedation, and other treatments as prescribed
  • Continuously monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythm, oxygen saturation, and overall condition throughout procedures
  • Assist physicians during upper GI, lower GI, bronchoscopy, and other diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopic procedures
  • Recognize and respond promptly to patient complications or changes in condition
  • Educate patients and families regarding procedure preparation, recovery expectations, medications, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and transport of endoscopy equipment according to infection prevention standards
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists, surgeons, anesthesia providers, technicians, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and quality care standards
Requirements
  • Active Washington Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact RN License (if applicable)
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Endoscopy nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • Experience with procedural sedation and recovery preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient monitoring skills
  • Knowledge of endoscopic procedures, sterile technique, and infection prevention practices
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care
