Job Title: Endoscopy Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Acute Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 4x10s/week Hours per Shift: Scheduled Monday - Friday, between 6:30 AM and 4:30 PM, with full call rotation Experience: Minimum of 1 Year experience in Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse License: Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Client Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 1 Year experience serving in Endoscopy environment as a Registered Nurse - Current Client RN License - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Description: The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families. The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient needs and develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The nurse provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Endoscopy Registered Nurse develops specialized skills in the area of patients admitted for medical conditions. He/She provides care to adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations with medical conditions. The Registered Nurse is accountable for patient and family education to assist in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing. The nurse is expected to promote comfort and provide emotional support in a healing environment. The nurse assesses patient and family needs through active listening and analyzing data obtained through direct observation, assessment, technology, or team communication. The nurse creates a culturally relevant and individualized plan of care to address the identified health problems. In collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and healthcare team members, the nurse sets goals and monitors the patient’s progress. The nurse adjusts the plan based on patient response or change in condition. The nurse promotes, advocates for, and protects the health, safety, and rights of the patient. He/She encourages and builds mutual trust and respect among team members to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The nurse teaches others as appropriate and delegates tasks consistent with education, training, and scope of practice. The Registered Nurse understands personal responsibility to safeguard public safety through compliance with infection prevention strategies. He/She motivates the patient and family by providing necessary information for continued care and healing at home. The nurse assesses patient and family learning styles to maximize understanding and seeks moments to emphasize key information. The nurse documents the education provided and the patient/family response. He/She systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and utilizes results to initiate changes in care delivery.
