Description:
The RN Clinical Nurse is an integral member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, and safe patient care.
The nurse will practice in a clinical environment supported by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the professional nurse practice act and the code of ethics standards.
As a member of the patient services team, the nurse must uphold the voice of the patient while supporting service excellence goals.
The nurse performs the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical care based on evidence-based practice.
Relationship-based patient-centered care is provided, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
The nurse collaborates with patients and significant others, keeping them updated on care and making their goals the focus of the plan of care.
Delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care will be coordinated, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
Teamwork and collaboration will be demonstrated through supportive interactions with all healthcare team members.
The nurse will participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and support shared governance across all levels of the system.
All initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and mandatory education must be completed.
The nurse serves as a preceptor or mentor to ensure a qualified workforce and healthy work environment.
Evidence-based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement are promoted in nursing.
